Welcome to Canyon Mesa Country Club

Canyon Mesa provides the perfect recreational complement to the beautiful red rocks of Sedona. It’s a nine-hole executive gem that caters to every type of golfer. Tucked quaintly away in a corner of the Village of Oak Creek just 8 miles south of Sedona on Hwy. SR179, Canyon Mesa is ideal for novices and yet challenging enough for the more experienced. Due to its short length—it averages just 140 yards a hole from the white tees—Canyon Mesa is perfect for those just learning the game. But its narrowness and difficult greens makes it challenging for long-time golfers working on “target golf”. Canyon Mesa is also the best public golf value in Sedona.

Instructor Affiliations

William Darke

William Darke is the Director of Golf at Canyon Mesa Country Club, a public nine-hole golf course tucked away in the Village of Oak Creek. With his Professional Golf Association certification, Darke brings skill, business-savvy ideas and passion for the game to the job. As a Michigan-native hockey player, Darke didn’t start playing golf seriously until he was in his 30s when the master golf professional at a driving range he visited frequently asked Darke to give him a hand. Darke graduated from the PGA program five years later. After nine years as an assistant professional in Michigan and Mirabel Golf Club in Scottsdale, Darke accepted his first head professional director of golf position at Canyon Mesa.
